Both Science and Spanish classes will use the same rubric for their poster presentation. Students taking both classes will present their poster in English in Science class. In Spanish class, students will follow a prompt in order to show mastery of Environmental vocabulary and the grammar concepts for the chapter. Students in Science class who have the capabilities to create their posters in Spanish, can do so.
We expect our students to score above average to average in both classes.
We can provide differentiation for this assignment when appropriate. For example, a gifted focus student might be able to create a website or create a petition around his suggestion to help the local enviornment. The student could even rally to get signatures to see how feasible his idea may be. Students with fine motor skill disabilities can use technology to help them create their presentation by getting clip-art off the internet or completely using Prezi to present their idea.
